Shape the Future. Volunteer.
Did you ever wonder why you had to learn math or science in school? STARBASE students do too.
The cool thing is, now you know the answer! Science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) skills are used in many different careers. As a STARBASE volunteer, you have the opportunity to share how you use these skills every day in your career!
Our students are empowered by learning about real-world STEM careers and meeting the people who have jobs that they themselves might aspire to have some day!
We teach the science of rockets. But you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to volunteer for STARBASE.
- Launch Ceremony Guest Speaker
- Rocket Launch Assistant
- Tour Guide (show the students where you work!)
From loading model rockets onto a launcher to participating in a Q&A session or even leading students in tour of an area of the base that uses STEM, STARBASE makes volunteering easy. We’ve thought through the volunteer scenario and developed tools to help you make the most of your valuable time.
Not sure what to say to a group of students? Our presentation outlines will guide you through it and provide you with the questions in advance so you know what to anticipate. Don’t think your field is relevant to kids? Our volunteer coordinator will help you connect the dots. At every volunteer event there is a STARBASE instructor by your side to make the experience as smooth and impactful as possible.
